Larry is a graduate of the University of Minnesota - Duluth, with a BAS in Industrial Technology specializing in electronics and Math. His career has spanned almost 30 years with ALLETE and Minnesota Power – a diversified power utility with interests in coal and real estate headquartered in Duluth, Minnesota. He has worked as a computer programmer on the Energy Management System, as a network and systems analyst, IT Security Analyst, and his current position as a Senior Informations Systems Auditor assessing security risk, reviewing security policies, plans, awareness training, and testing and monitoring controls, and has lead several security compliance initiatives such as; NERC CIP, SOX, HIPAA, and PCI. He has also taught various computer, Internet, and security courses at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College and has presented at several national security conferences such as; CSI, EEI, InfoSec World, and IT Security World plus many local events on various security and SCADA topics and has been featured in SC Magazine. He maintains a CISSP and CSSA certifications and is a member of the local InfraGard, OWASP, and ISSA chapters.
